Welcome to my airbnb in Mytholmroyd, Hebden Bridge, in my Victorian stone house overlooking the river. Pet friendly room, your dog is welcome! Surrounded by beautiful canalside walks, this is a great place to stay, away from the bustle of central Hebden Bridge, but just a leisurely mile's walk along the canal for all the shops, bars and restaurants of Hebden Bridge itself. The village of Mytholmroyd has its own train station, two friendly (and dog-friendly) pubs, a great bar, and a selection of well-regarded local takeaways. In addition, we have three superb breakfast cafes within give minutes' walk, all of which are dogfriendly.
Situated between the Rochdale canal just 100m away, and the River Calder, just a few metres away, this is a lovely spot on Burnley Road, where you are within very easy reach of dog walks, cycle routes and canal trips! We are just 5 minutes' walk from Mytholmroyd train station and 15 minutes' walk from Hebden Bridge train station on the main line between Manchester and Leeds. The famous town of Hebden Bridge is a mile's pleasant walk along the canal, or a two-minute drive.
The house is a Victorian Yorkshire stone terraced house, with a south-facing rear patio overlooking the river Calder directly over the river wall. Here you'll see loads of birds: ducks, Canada geese, gulls, grebe, wagtails, jackdaws and crows, and the heron. If you're exceptionally lucky, you might even spot the kingfisher!
There is a kitchen where you can heat a simple meal, and ample fridge space if you need it. In your room there's a kettle and toaster, tea, coffee, milk of your choice in a mini fridge, and biscuits.
Want to eat locally? We are also blessed with superb highly-rated Indian, Chinese and Pizza takeaways within 5 minutes' walk, three good pubs, two of which do good food, within 5 minutes' walk, plus three great cafes - within 5 minutes' walk! Perfect for Sunday brunch. Vegans are well catered for in all of these eateries.
In addition there's all the offerings of Hebden Bridge just up the road, including many restaurants and cafes, the Hebden Bridge Picture House, the Little Theatre, the Trades Club, the regular markets, and many independent shops. There's historic Heptonstall and countless superb walks and rambles across the beautiful countryside.
In addition to your spacious room, which is equipped with a sofa and television and dining table, there's the shared bathroom with bath, shower and river view. There's a small anteroom to your attic retreat which has lots of useful things for cosy stays such as plates and bowls, wine glasses, cafetiere and teapot.
You are welcome to use the south-facing patio out the back of the house in good weather (you are welcome to smoke out there); it's cute and has the river running right by. There's a chiminea you can use, too. If you have bikes you are welcome to store them indoors overnight.
This room is unfortunately not suitable for those with mobility limitations as it's up two steep flights of West Yorkshire stairs. The bathroom is shared with your host only.
